Where to stay in Waikiki ~ Ambassador Hotel

Where to stay in Waikiki ~ The Ambassador Hotel

The Ambassador Hotel General description:
ambassador Where to stay in Waikiki ~ Ambassador Hotel
Ambassador Hotel

  • Built in 1968, the Ambassador Hotel has two different buildings. One is 18 floors and the other is 8 floors high, with a total of a little over 300 rooms. Most of these hotel rooms are studios and/or have kitchenettes. However, there are also some 1 bedroom units available at the Ambassador Hotel.
It has always operated under the same name. It was built as a family type, low end hotel, and has remained over the years in the same star rating.
  • No major renovation was done to the Ambassador Hotel since it was built other than the normal ones to keep up with the daily wear and tear, like: carpet, bed covers, curtains, etc. However, the Ambassador Hotel is in very acceptable condition for this particular hotel category.
  • Common areas are adequate at the Ambassador Hotel, which include a small swimming pool and many restaurants. Bars and shopping areas can be reached by walking a very short distance.
  • Like all hotels in Waikiki, parking is available, but usually for an extra fee. Also, in- room safes and high speed internet connections are normally offered at an additional cost too!!!

What we like about the Ambassador Hotel:

  • Most of the rooms at the Ambassador Hotel have cooking facilities. Even though the rooms are not huge, they are big enough to accommodate either one king bed, or 2 double beds. Normally, hotels in this category tend to have rooms that are a lot smaller than the ones at the Ambassador Hotel.
  • Most of the rooms have a balcony at the Ambassador Hotel.

What you may not like about the Ambassador Hotel:

  • The Ambassador Hotel is 3 blocks away from the beach, which is approximately a 6 or 7 minute walk.
  • The Ambassador Hotel is 8 blocks away from the International Market Place. So, you will be about a 16 minutes walk to the center of Waikiki-(The International Market Place).
  • The Ambassador Hotel is almost 40 years old, and even though is maintained adequately, it does, however show.
