Where to stay in Waikiki ~ Miramar Hotel 

Miramar Hotel General description:

• Originally built in 1962, the Miramar Hotel sits on Kuhio Avenue, next to the back entrance to the International Market Place. It has been maintained over the years but has not gone through a major renovation. The common areas are adequate in size with a spacious lobby on the ground floor that includes several shops and restaurants and a sun-deck and small pool on the 4th floor.
• Parking is extra like most hotels in Waikiki but the hotel has a good number of parking stall for guests.
   

What we like about the Miramar Hotel:

• The location of the Miramar Hotel is very desirable because is within the central area of Waikiki and only 4 minutes away from the beach.

What you may not like about the Miramar Hotel:

• Most tour companies have a stop scheduled by the curb in front of the Miramar Hotel, this results in a number of buses parked outside at different hours of the day.
• The Miramar Hotel has been maintained over the years but the general looks have remained the same and for many it may be outdated.
• Like many hotels, the Miramar Hotel standard rooms are too small and not very good, it is advisable to book at least a superior room or better.
• The pool may be somewhat small but again that is quite common for Hotels in Waikiki.
• There is no free street parking close to the Miramar Hotel so if you are going to have a car, remember to budget a daily parking fee (quite high).
• There are consistently better hotels for the kind of rate that this hotel commands.
