Where to stay in Waikiki ~ Regency on Beachwalk
Where to stay in Waikiki ~ Regency on Beachwalk
Regency on Beachwalk General description:

Regency on Beachwalk
- The Regency on Beachwalk was built in the 70′s, this property operated under several management companies and names, the last one before the current one was with Marc Hotels and Resorts and under the name Marc Suites Royal.
- The Regency on Beachwalk looks and feels more like a residential building than a hotel, all units have cooking facilities and most of them are either one bedrooms or 2 bedrooms.
- When it comes to the common areas, the Regency on Beachwalk are small but efficient because the hotel was never marketed as a resort but rather a “home away from home” lodging with many of the things, space and comfort that only 1 and 2 bedrooms can offer.
- Lately it became part of the “several hundred million dollars worth” Beachwalk project and that meant a total renovation, management change, name change and even ownership change since the hotel was transformed in what is known as a “condominium hotel” in which the units are sold to individual owners (by the way the Trump Tower is like that too) and there is a Management company (now is Outrigger Hotels and Resorts) that takes care of the hotel side of the operation.
What we like about the Regency on Beachwalk:
- The Regency on Beachwalk is right at the heart of what promises to become one of the nicest areas in Waikiki.
- Like all properties that aim to sell the units to individual owners, the units were equipped and decorated with great taste.
- Like other hotels around the Regency on Beachwalk, it is in a very good location and only 200 yards away from the ocean through a narrow path between the Halekulani and the Outrigger Reef hotels.
- There is considerably less traffic through Beachwalk street than Lewers, Kalia or Saratoga, so if you want to be in this area, noise levels are lower (remember, lower does not mean non existent, noise in Waikiki is everywhere).
What you may not like about the Regency on Beachwalk:
- If you chose the Regency on Beachwalk because you wanted to use the closest beach you may feel disappointed because this part of the beach is very narrow.
- If you wanted a big pool and lots of amenities, the Regency on Beachwalk is not for you.
