Where to stay in Waikiki ~ Royal Gardens Hotel

Royal Gardens Hotel General description:

Royal Gardens Hotel Where to stay in Waikiki ~ Royal Gardens Hotel

Royal Gardens Hotel

  • From the more than 300 rooms and suites that the Royal Gardens Hotel has a little less than 150 are offered as a hotel, the rest are privately owned by individuals some of which are permanent residents and others rent the units as vacation rentals.
  • This hotel was built in 1977 and operated for a long time under the name “Holiday Isle” by a company named Pleasant Hawaiian Holidays. It was sold in the 90″s to a Japanese company that invested a huge amount of money and brought this property to the star rating that enjoys today.
  • The common areas are ample and beautifully decorated with granite and it has a pleasant and tranquil pool area in the back.
  • The Royal Gardens Hotel has been recently purchased by Fairfield that has plans to turn it into a time share operation in the near future.

What we like about the Royal Gardens Hotel:

  • The Royal Gardens Hotel is one of the best values you can get in Waikiki for the money
  • The lobby, corridors and common areas in general are very nice
  • Parking is extra like everywhere in Waikiki but is valet parking what make things a lot easier without costing more than other Hotels in the area.
  • If you are looking for something fairly nice and you do not want to spend too much, Royal Gardens Hotel is for you.
  • The Royal Gardens Hotel is a good choice for business travelers; it provides an excellent looking address and environment, with a pleasant lobby where you can have a meeting without spending too much.

What you may not like about the Royal Gardens Hotel:

  • From the Royal Gardens Hotel it is about 7 minutes walk to the beach and about 15 minutes walk to the International Market place (the “center” of the area) it’ is sure not a lot but for some people is too much.
  • Valet Parking at the Royal Gardens Hotel is convenient but if you come and go too many times a day it may be an inconvenience.
  • It is not a ‘busy” hotel so if you are looking for a place with tons of people coming and going, you may feel that is not busy enough.
